Why a clear Sprite bottle is actually green.
As Aristotle once said, “It’s lank hard to unmix paint.”
Fine. He probably didn’t say that, but it would have been an excellent point to make when talking about why clear plastics are better than the coloured variety.
Why? Because once you put a colour into plastic, you can’t take it out again – you can only recycle it to make more of the same colour (or combine it to make other colours).
Clear bottles can be used in so, so many more recycled products – and this means they are worth more to collectors, easier to sell and generally just more rad. Like your 100% Sunlight liquid bottle, for instance: (https://www.unilever.co.za/news/news-and-features/2019/cleaning-up-with-sunlights-recycled-and-recyclable-bottles.html)
So big up to the Coca-Cola company for seeing things clearly with their Sprite.
And let’s rather keep the rainbow for everything else in the nation.
